Counting Blessings.

What counts?

What works best to help ensure the healthiest life we can have? A restorative sleep? A kinder heart? A focused brain?

Reviewing all of the people who "wronged" us, who hurt us, who "dissed" us will not lead to a positive or healthy outcome. It is more likely to contribute to bitterness and loneliness because cortisol (stress hormone) is released and re-released.

So instead of counting slights:

Count Blessings. Focusing on the good in our lives gives us an opportunity to open up to other positive experiences because we "set our minds" in a gratitude mode as the endorphins flood our body.
